NFKB1 and cancer: Apigenin and genistein both target dozens of pharmacological targets, such as estrogen receptors, ABC transporters, membrane proteins, mitochondria-associated proteins, cell cycle-associated proteins, epigenetic regulators, cytokines, and many signaling pathways including NF-κB, MAPK/ERK, JAK/STAT, PI3K/Akt and Wnt/β-catenin pathways, exhibiting therapeutic applications in cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, cancers, etc. (Mukund et al., 2017; Jaiswal et al., 2019; Kim and Park, 2020; Javed et al., 2021).
