TTR and amyloidosis: In this regard, it is also interesting to note that, even though patients with wild-type ATTR amyloidosis always have amyloid fibrils of type A [11], and we know that wild-type TTR is continued to be incorporated into the amyloid after liver transplantation [23], the patients in this study who showed fibril type B before liver transplantation continued to have amyloid consisting of only type B fibrils many years after the procedure.
