HMGB1 and stroke disorder: Twenty-four hours after stroke, neutrophil-depleted mice had similar plasma HMGB1 levels compared with neutrophil-sufficient mice (9.8 ± 3.7 ng/mL vs. 8.8 ± 2.8 ng/mL, respectively; Figure 5H), indicating that neutrophils do not contribute to the rise of plasma HMGB1 after stroke.
