ALB and Hypoalbuminemia: In hospitalized patients, Akirov et al showed that there was with an increased risk of mortality with marked hypoalbuminemia (< 2.5g/dl), 34% compared to mild hypoalbuminemia (2.5–3.5g/dl) or normal albumin level (> 3.5g/dl) on admission, 12% vs 2% mortality respectively.
