SLC2A1 and prostate carcinoma: Several oncosuppressor miRNAs downregulate GLUT1 as, for example miR-132 in prostate cancer (PC), where GLUT1 is also regulated by cucurbitacin D (Cuc D), an anti-cancer plant steroid [30], thus indicating that metabolic effects may be manipulated not only with miRNA mimics or anti-miRNAs/sponges, but also with pharmacological or natural products.
