METTL3 is a m6A writer and is identified as the major methyltransferase in the methylation to regulate the development of different types of cancers by modulating the maturation of miRNAs.12, 24, 25, 26 For example, METTL3 can modulate the maturation of miR‐126‐5p to promote the progression of ovarian cancer,27 and METTL3 enhances the metastasis of colorectal cancer by promoting the maturation of primary miR‐1246 (pri‐miR‐1246).28 The gene discussed is METTL3; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
