In addition, adding methylation levels of each of the 18 targets for the 9 genes (i.e., AMH, C17orf82, HDAC9, IGFBP3, LRRC10B, PDE3A, PRDM6, SYT7 and TBX2) to the basic model of traditional risk factors significantly improved the risk stratification for ischemic stroke, as shown by increases in continuous NRIs ranging from 16.00% (for TBX2_2) to 59.91% (for SYT7_1) and IDIs ranging from 0.43% (for TBX2_2) to 4.09% (for SYT7_1) (Supplementary Table 4).
