AIM2‐like receptors, including IFN‐inducible protein 16 and AIM2, are gaining increasing attention in SLE due to the significant pathogenic role of IFN in lupus and the positive association between disease activity in SLE and inflammasome‐induced production of IL‐1β.33, 34. The gene discussed is IFNA1; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
