The univariable analysis showed that PIVKA-II > 250 mAU/mL, AFP > 200 ng/mL, higher total bilirubin levels, lower serum albumin levels, higher ALT levels, higher AST levels, higher PT INR, the presence of ascites, ECOG 1 (vs 0), Child B or C (vs A), BCLC stage C or D (vs B), larger tumour size, presence of portal vein thrombosis, and previous anti-HCC treatment were significantly associated with poor OS (all p < 0.05).
