Figure 1 shows that median values of IL-8 concentrations were significantly higher in CSF as compared to plasma of both patient groups, AF (p = 0.002, Figure 1A) and SZ (p < 0.0001, Figure 1A). However, CSF IL-8 levels from both patient groups were low when compared with CSF obtained from patients with Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) (Figure S1E). Median IL-10 concentrations were also higher in CSF of AF patients (p = 0.02, Figure 1B), but not in SZ. Median values of IL-1β were higher in plasma samples of SZ patients when compared to CSF (p = 0.02, Figure 1C). Here, IL1B is linked to atrial fibrillation.
