During the acute stage of the infection, patients demonstrated decreased blood counts of both TEMRA subsets (TEMRA T helpers—CD3+CD4+CD45RO−CD62L−; TEMRA cytotoxic T cells—CD3+CD8+CD45RO−CD62L−), i.e., the cells with the highest functional activity, which can be due to the migration of cells into the tissue to implement their function. Here, CD8A is linked to infection.
