CCND1 and melanoma: One of the cases in the series reported by Magro et al. demonstrated normal cytogenetic profiles on both FISH and CGH on the initial biopsy but demonstrated unequivocal histomorphologic and cytogenetic progression into a DPN-like melanoma on subsequent biopsies (gains of RREB1 and CCND1 and loss of MYB1 on FISH and amplification of 3p21.1-p11.1 and loss of 8p23.3-p11.21 on CGH) [8].
