Wu et al. [12,16,28] showed that polyphenols from LC berry reduced the serum levels of cytokines (IL-2, IL-6, TNF-α, monocyte chemotactic protein-1—MCP-1) in such experimentally induced pathologies as mice fed with high-fat diet, lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced mouse paw edema, or a murine model of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. The gene discussed is IL2; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
