SLC6A11 and Cognitive impairment: Proteins associated with glutamate transport and metabolism, and with GABA formation and transport, were upregulated, except for sodium- and chloride-dependent GABA transporter-3, suggesting that matcha and decaffeinated matcha may contribute to the prevention of aging and cognitive impairment by upregulating the expression of these proteins (solute carrier family 1 (glial high-affinity glutamate transporter) and calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase type II subunit gamma) (Table 7).
