CRP and infection: Women with colonization had a lower intensity of maternal inflammatory response measured by C-reactive protein (CRP) and white blood cell (WBC) count than women with intra-amniotic infection (CRP—colonization: median 4.3 mg/L, IQR 2.4–8.4 vs. infection: median 13.8 mg/L, IQR 3.8–27.4; p = 0.003; WBC—colonization: median 11.3 × 109 L, IQR 9.6–13.9 vs. infection: median 14.6 × 109 L, IQR 10.9–17.8; p = 0.006).
