The degree of glomerulosclerosis was also less severe in the WIF1 treatment group compared with control group (Fig. 7b).qRT-PCR and immunofluorescence showed that the levels of key podocyte molecules, including WT1 (Fig. 7c), NPHS1 (Fig. 7d, g), NPHS2 (Fig. 7e, h), and PODXL (Fig. 7f, i), were significantly increased in diabetic mice injected with AAV-WIF1 compared with those injected with AAV-CTL.
