Additionally, the risk of COVID-19 increased with the presence of each additional variant GSTO2*G allele: GSTO2*AG carriers were in almost 2-fold higher odds of COVID-19 development (OR = 1.91, 95%CI = 1.10–3.30, p = 0.020), while GSTO2*GG homozygotes exhibited 3.7-fold higher odds of COVID-19 development (OR = 3.69, 95%CI = 1.62–8.40, p = 0.002).
