The main molecular target drugs available for oral cancer in Japan are cetuximab, a mouse monoclonal antibody targeting epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and nivolumab, an immune checkpoint inhibitor that blocks the programmed death-1 (PD-1) and PD-ligand 1 (PD-L1) pathways [7]. Here, EGFR is linked to lip and oral cavity carcinoma.
