In this study, we sought to address the question of whether the presence of the polymorphisms of the genes involved in the innate immune system, namely TLR2, TLR4 and TLR9, correlates with an increased risk for predisposing to AML, considering that there are scarce studies that investigated TLR2, TLR4 and TLR9 SNPs and the risk of hematological malignancy. The gene discussed is TLR4; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
