Although there was no significant difference in mortality between candidemia (33%) and bacteremia (22%) patients (p = 0.141) 28 days after initiating therapy, a two-sample Wilcoxon rank-sum test analysis using four biomarkers (CRP, PCT, PSEP, and BDG) in conjunction with the SOFA score (p = 0.012) revealed significant differences between the two patient groups (Supplementary Table S1). Here, CRP is linked to bacterial infectious disease with sepsis.
