Recently, Heinosalo et al. found adenomyosis-like phenotype present in transgenic mice overexpressing human 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (HSD17B1); the phenotype appeared at the age of 5.5 months and became more pronounced at 12 months [70] (presented at the 14th World Congress on endometriosis, 6 March 2021). This evidence concerns the gene HSD17B1 and adenomyosis.
