Recently, SIRT2 has been shown to operate as a deacetylase targeting isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) at lysine 224 enhancing its enzymatic activity and, ultimately, inhibiting hypoxia inducible factor α (HIF1α)/Src pathway, exerting a tumor suppressor activity in CRC cells (Figure 1) [92]. This evidence concerns the gene SIRT2 and colorectal carcinoma.
