This epigenome alteration is further supported by the studies done by Alonso-Magdalena et al. (2016) that show that inheritance of TNFRSF12A, ESRRA, FGF19, WNT10B, GDNF, ENOPH1, ATF3, NCAM2, NTF3, PITX3, and DPYSL2 as evidence of obesity development in the offspring [79]. Here, ATF3 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
