Surprisingly, patients harboring the GG genotype had high risk of developing PMF and Post-PV/ET-MF (OR = 4.689, 95% CI = 1.19–18.44; p = 0.027) and (OR = 5.255, 95% CI = 1.23–22.36; p = 0.025), respectively, adjusted by age and gender suggesting that CCL2 rs1024611 polymorphism could be an independent risk factor for developing PMF and Post-PV/ET-MF. The gene discussed is CCL2; the disease is acquired polycythemia vera.
