Similarly, the KO/KD of the major HNF1A target gene HNF4A is known to play a role in liver oncogenesis or HCC [56,57,58], suggesting that both HNF1A and HNF4A are responsible for maintaining liver homeostasis, and the disruption of their function may lead to liver pathologies and HCC. This evidence concerns the gene HNF1A and hepatocellular carcinoma.
