Of the 187 children who had a liver biopsy, reports obtained from each institution showed that the prevalence of grade 3 steatosis was more than 3 times as likely among children with a peak ALT > 70 U/L compared to children with peak ALT ≤70 U/L (ALT ≤ 70 U/L, 17%; ALT 70–<250 U/L, 51%; ALT ≥ 250 U/L, 50%; p = 0.113).
