When assessing the mean difference (95% Confidence Interval) between the two glucagon assays, RIA showed significantly higher glucagon levels in healthy individuals [77.12 pmol/L [47.35 to 106.9 pmol/L)], patients with T1D [60.47 pmol/L (30.70 to 90.23 pmol/L)], and T2D patients [89.74 pmol/L (59.97 to 90.23 pmol/L)] (all p < 0.0001) than ELISA (Figure 1B). The gene discussed is GCG; the disease is type 1 diabetes mellitus.
