In addition to being more often an older male person, the high MPI-CKD profile includes having fewer education years (p = 0.006), higher LHS (p = 0.002), more falls in the previous year (p = 0.009), higher nursing needs and home services (p < 0.001) and lower circulating levels of total proteins (p = 0.007) and albumin (p < 0.001) at admission than the low MPI-CKD profile (Table 1).
