CXCL1 and infection: IL-17A is a pro-inflammatory cytokine produced by Th17 cells which induces the release of many cytokines (such as IL-6, G-CSF, GM-CSF, IL-1β, TGF-β, TNF-α) and chemokines (including IL-8, GRO-α and MCP-1) [39,40], with the final goal of increasing inflammation, the generation of granulocytes by bone marrow and attracting leukocytes to the site of infection [39,41,42].
