Recently, new medicines such as dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) inhibitor, sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor, and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonist for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are being introduced to the clinical field in addition to traditional medicines such as metformin, sulfonylurea, thiazolidinedione, and insulin.
