A recent study investigating the association of immune cell signatures with the tumor mutational burden (TMB) in ccRCC has shown that tumors with a high TMB had poorer prognosis and a lower signature of CD4+ T-cells, CD8+ T-cells, dendritic cells and M1 and M2 macrophages compared to tumors with a lower TMB [6]. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
