In keeping with previous studies [31,32], here we demonstrated that CD40L stimulation of CLL cells results in increased NF-κB signaling (both canonical and non-canonical) and the transcriptional activation of NF-κB target genes, including the anti-apoptotic genes of the BCL2 family, BCL2L1, BCL2A1 and MCL1. The gene discussed is BCL2L1; the disease is B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
