KLRG1 and cancer: One study [67] reported an age-related rise in expression of the inhibitory receptor KLRG1, particularly in CD56dim NK cells; CD56dim NK cells expressing high levels of KLRG1 had impaired cytotoxicity against the MCF-10A cancer line, which expresses high levels of KLRG1’s ligand E-cadherin, and silencing RNA against KLRG1 enhanced these cells’ NKCC against this target cell type.
