Eventually, two studies carried out on rat models showed that the consumption of grapes by hypertensive rats reduced heart failure and increased Nrf2 transcription factor activity [54], while in a model of cardiorenal-injured rats, a combination of silymarin and V. vinifera extract synergistically promoted the activation of the Keap1/Nrf2 signaling pathway [55].
