GSTM1 and diabetes mellitus: As shown in Table 4, among 161 patients with OGIB due to small intestinal bleeding, univariate analysis demonstrated that the presence of vascular lesions (P <0.0001), low Hb (<9.050 g/dL), low platelet count (<216.50/μL x10E3) and elevated BUN (≥ 14.80 mg/dl) at capsule endoscopy (P = 0.0020, 0.014, 0.0088 respectively), and diabetes mellitus (P = 0.0016) were associated with invasive treatments such as endoscopic treatment, interventional radiology (IVR) and surgery, compared with conservative treatment.
