These included Adiponectin, Endocan and KIT, which were lower in T2D, whilst other markers—namely, Cathepsin-D, Cadherin-E, Kallikrein-4, Aminoacylase-1, Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein-4 (IGFBP4) and Reticulon-4 receptor (RTN4R)—were higher in T2D. Here, KLK4 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
