CYP2E1 and liver disorder: Gallic acid and epigallocatechin have hepatoprotective properties in rat livers, as evidenced by a significant reduction in liver injury markers with CYP2E1, and increased antioxidant enzyme activity [2,27], indicating a strong therapeutic potential of gallic acid in this experimental liver disorder due to its potent antioxidant properties, DPPH scavenging activity, and reducing power assay.
