To accomplish this, we crossed mice carrying a floxed Syt2 allele (Syt2F/F) (ref. 24) with Scgb1a1Cre-knockin mice25,26, as Syt2-knockout mice die from complications of ataxia by postnatal day 24 (ref. 27), precluding the study of the pathophysiologic role of airway mucin secretion in adult Syt2-knockout mice. This evidence concerns the gene SYT2 and cerebellar ataxia.
