p-YAP1/YAP1 was further significantly decreased in both non-tumorous and tumorous part of Atg7ΔHepFgf21−/− liver compared to Atg7ΔHepFgf21+/+ tumor (Figures 3A, B), suggesting that further increased YAP1 due to the absence of FGF21-induced YAP1 phosphorylation and degradation in the same autophagy-deficient background (13) plays a role in the additional increase of tumor size in Atg7ΔHepFgf21−/− mice compared to Atg7ΔHepFgf21+/+ mice.
