The presence of endocan in hyperplastic endothelial cells in high-grade gliomas, principally activated by VEGF-A and TGFβ2 signaling pathway [24, 37] and in tumor cells and vessels located in the tumor stroma of human renal carcinoma [25], might be indicative of the role of endocan in the growth of renal tumor cells and in tumor vascularization. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and renal carcinoma.
