In order to explore a possible central role of endothelial dysfunction in determining levels of studied parameters, the authors examined correlations of asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), an established marker of endothelial dysfunction with endocan, angiopoietin-1, and HF-1a in patients with ADPKD. This evidence concerns the gene ANGPT1 and autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.
