The ratio of AST to ALT was significantly higher in the normal glucose group (median: 1.22, IQR: 0.96–1.50) than in the groups with diabetes (median: 1.00, IQR: 0.82–1.25) and elevated blood glucose (median: 1.07, IQR: 0.87–1.33). This evidence concerns the gene GPT and diabetes mellitus.
