We further examined the role of the IL4RA SNP in participants with increased eosinophil counts in the studied population (25 patients with asthma, 9 patients with COPD and 9 patients with ACO; Table 4) and found a significant association between the SNP and the participants characterized by increased eosinophil counts (p = 0.031). This evidence concerns the gene IL4R and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
