In our study, adiponectin in prediabetes was found to be significantly decreased compared with the healthy participants and positively correlated with TNF-α (R = 0.2939, P = 0.0105) or IL-6 (R = 0.3918, P = 0.0005), and their relationship was notably enhanced with HOMA-IR (TNF-α: R = 0.7732, P < 0.0001; IL-6: R = 0.6663, P = 0.0005). The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is prediabetes syndrome.
