Adiponectin levels in the subgroups of prediabetes patients with HOMA-IR >2.8 were found to be strongly correlated with IL-6 (R = 0.6663, P = 0.005) or TNF-α (R = 0.7732, P < 0.001), but in the other three subgroups, there was no such correlation (Table 3). The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is prediabetes syndrome.
