Together, our findings suggest that either bone-marrow derived immune cells comprise the majority of the intratumoral immune cells and that microglia do not penetrate the tumor, or, given reports of microglia upregulating CD45 in pathological conditions (36, 37), that microglia downregulate Tmem119 and upregulate CD45 in response to medulloblastoma. This evidence concerns the gene TMEM119 and medulloblastoma.
