In vivo and in vitro experiments revealed that M2 macrophages secrete CCL18 which specifically binds to PITPNM3 at the cellular membrane and subsequently upregulates VCAM-1 expression in PC cells by activating NF-kB signal transduction, promoting the Warburg effect, proliferation, migration and metastasis of PC cells. The gene discussed is PITPNM3; the disease is pachyonychia congenita.
