The effect of adrenergic receptor gene polymorphisms [rs1800544 (ADRA2A), rs1801252 (ADRB1), rs1042713 (ADRB2), rs4994 (ADRB3)] on obesity marker alterations after the intervention was also investigated, based on the major role of these receptor subtypes in the regulation of lipid mobilization and the correlation of these SNPs with obesity and metabolic syndromes (46–56). This evidence concerns the gene ADRA2A and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
