In the 10 cases who reported a history of angioedema and/or urticaria, all had a past history of mild episodes triggered by medication, either nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, beta-lactam antibiotics, or angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, which are largely used in adult patients and can be a confounding factor in many angioedema cases [10]. The gene discussed is ACE; the disease is urticaria.
