As shown in Table 5, subgroup analysis revealed that GG genotype of ACE2 was associated with COVID-19 both in female and male patients (P = 0.005, OR 5.2, 95% CI 1.7–16.5 and P = 0.002, OR 5.8, 95% CI 1.8–18.6, respectively). This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and COVID-19.
