Given the potential future application of the R18D, R18 and NA-1 peptides as ischaemic stroke neurotherapeutics, it is important to establish if they interfere with current and future standard of care treatments, namely alteplase (tPA; recombinant tissue plasminogen activator) and tenecteplase (TNK; a modified version of tPA) thrombolysis, which are routinely administered prior to thrombectomy.
