The availability of specific inhibitors of ROS1 and their clinical benefit should lead to simultaneous testing of ROS1 rearrangement with other recurrent biomarkers in NSCLC (e.g EGFR and ALK) in all advanced stage never/light smokers with squamous cell carcinoma and non-squamous NSCLC [6]. This evidence concerns the gene ALK and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
